What is Fat Loss?

We store most of our fat under the skin, around the organs, and in the muscles. We need fat to give our bodies energy and to help us absorb important nutrients. However, too much of it is harmful to the body. Losing the fat helps our bodies run more smoothly.

Why Fat Loss is Important

Losing excess fat helps prevent diabetes, heart disease, and cancer to name a few. Carrying a lot of body fat makes health, body looks, and athletic performance worse. However, it is hard to lose fat and cut away from old habits. Thus, we need a good solution to that problem.

What You Should Know

Not everyone can eat a lot and not gain weight. We are all unique in how our bodies work. It depends on what we eat and how our bodies use the food’s energy. If you try to eat very little, your body conserves as much fat as possible. But once you go back to eating normal, you will gain weight quickly and lose muscle. Eating too much and not exercising will also make you gain weight. Thus, it is very important to eat healthy, balanced meals and exercise.

Summary and Recommendations

To lose fat and maintain a lower body fat percentage:

  • Exercise at least 5 days/week
  • Eat whole/unprocessed foods regularly
  • Be aware when you are hungry and full
  • Sleep 7-9 hours per night (very important!)
  • Do not go on extreme diets
  • Stay consistent with your habits

Above all, if you want to feel and look great, nutrition is the most important! Without good nutrition, you will not get the results you want!
